What type of therapy services are there?

There are many types of therapy that help to self-heal your mind, being a professional Humanistic Therapist I first listen to our client and then provide the necessary therapy.

This could include Person Centred Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Existential Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Integrative Therapy, Group Therapy & Couple Counselling.

Person Centered Therapy

What is Person Centred Relational Therapy?

An important part of this theory is that in a particular psychological environment, the fulfilment of personal potential includes sociability, the need to be with other human beings and a desire to know and be known by other people.

It also includes being open to experience, being trusting and trustworthy, being curious about the world, being creative and compassionate.

My name is Janaina Mahe and I thank you for taking the time to read the information on my website. Firstly, I would like you to know that the reason I have chosen counselling as a profession is because I am passionate about helping people help themselves, to make the best of their time by living a more fulfilled and meaningful life.

I am a bilingual Portuguese & English fully qualified professional Humanistic Counsellor, with a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Practice which was awarded with Merit. I am a director of a counselling service company called ESPERANSA, which means HOPE in Portuguese; as I originally come from Brazil.

In reality, I am a truly person-centred counsellor who believes people are self healers and my job is to provide an efficacious therapeutic work, in which my clients may channel their own inner resources – therefore enabling them to live a more fulfilled and meaningful life. In this light, I do base my practice within a strong connection between my clients and me, but bonded by the framework of the therapeutic relationship.

Firstly, I do meet my clients where they are – as a human being and not just as a professional counsellor training in Humanistic approaches.

Secondly, I believe 100% in my clients’ inner resources to self healing and I am to work together to the best of my abilities to achieve their therapeutic change. However, I work from the principle that my clients must take responsibility for their own lives, even though we embark on their therapeutic journey together.

Thirdly, I believe in myself, in the fact I am able to emotionally contact my clients, providing a safe, non-judgemental environment and ethical service. I maintain and uphold the values and principles of the BACP, by honouring the trust placed in me and being totally committed to my clients well-being.
